The 2,300 members of New York Veterinary Medical Society are licensed veterinarians in New York State. We are a non-profit member association which supports and represents those members through a range of programs, including advocating to the state government and providing continuing education.
The society is governed by an Executive Board which includes officers elected by the membership and a representative from each of the 12 regional veterinary medical associations that cover the state.
Our headquarters are in Albany, New York, where a small staff team provides administrative support to the members, Executive Board, Committees and our Regional associations.
The State society is affiliated with twelve regional Veterinary Medical Associations that provide continuing education programs and social events close to their member's work or home. Many also run programs that educate the public or support animal welfare programs.
