Online happy hour

Online Happy Hour

Monday April 21 - 7:00pm - 8:00pm

Join Dr. Andy Fleming (President) and Dr. Bob Weiner (Past-President) for an online happy hour.

Just drop-in online whenever you want for however long you want. Bring along a drink or two, and have an opportunity to touch base with other veterinarians on what it is like for them. Maybe share some challenges, or some bright spots. Or just relax and enjoy the company.

Its our first try at this, so we will make it up as we go along, and find out what makes this a worthwhile opportunity for connection within the NY veterinary profession.

    RE: Vaccines

I would like to know the answer to this as well, I know of other veterinarians who are clicking through to get an appointment under the "other" health worker category. I figured they would be turned back at the vaccination site, since supposedly you have ...

    Vaccines

So are we as veterinarians and veterinary staff eligible for vaccinations or not? The emails I have received say no this thread at the top says yes then turns to no. I have friends that live in nys but a different county and they already got their vaccine ...

  • I just heard from a client that she and her roommate were able to make appointments for their vaccine at the end of the month -- they work for a school district, so they are considered 1b even though they are in administration with zero public contact. ...

  • With the Resurgence of COVID cases in our region, I thought I would reach out and ask if anyone has had any suspicious cases or confirmed cases of coal pit in dogs or cats. I have seen quite a few kennel cough cases recently, but none have had fever or ...

  • I would like to see the workup on these animals before concluding that COVID-19 is the cause of symptoms and illness. Simply a positive test does not mean cause of disease, especially if all other potential (and more common, perhaps) causes have not ...

  • YES !!!! My thoughts exactly- especially when then reading all the FB hysteria this engenders :-(. ------------------------------ Kathi Heiber South Putnam Animal Hospital Mahopac NY 845-628-1834 ------------------------------

  • Hello all, Just an update to this. Even though these Interim Guidelines state serologic testing, they are not performing serologic testing at this time. At least that is what I was told today when I spoke to someone with the Department of Health after ...

  • Hello all, Any thoughts on the positive pug? I have some concerns. Apologies for the rant... I read a few mainstream media articles, so perhaps my assess to full and accurate information is limited. I am concerned that none of these articles ...

  • Dear Dr.Atkinson, Never mind the follow up questions, I found some source information when I was able to do some digging about. The "thousands" are among over 5000 animals tested worldwide ( or at least in 17 countries), and not just cats. The intent ...

  • Dear Dr.Atkinson, A follow up if you don't mind. We (my husband is a vet as well) weren't aware when I posted the question that these two were from a pool of thousands of tests. We assumed (wrongly) that few companion animals were being tested as per ...

  • Hello all! Hope this finds everyone safe and well. In light of the two feline positives in NYS, I was just wondering if there is a list-serve I should be on to receive notification about further positives. Does anyone know of a USDA list-serve or another ...

  • I am not sure why my attempt to post to this discussion is not going through- but there has been an update to the 3/31 info on 4/20/2020=. Can you please find this to attach to this discussion Tim ?? Thanks ------------------------------ Kathi Heiber ...
